New to Pilates Blast? Let’s Get You Started!

So, you’re ready to move, strengthen, and challenge your body like never before? Welcome to Pilates Blast, where we blend the best of Pilates exercises and Megaformer™ workouts to give you a low-impact, high-intensity fitness experience. Whether you’re stepping into a Pilates studio for the first time or looking to level up with the Megaformer™, we’ve got you covered.

Pilates or Megaformer™? Here’s the Difference.

We believe in smart movement, but not all workouts are the same. Here’s what you need to know:

  • PILATES WORKOUTS

Proven since the 1920s, Pilates is built on controlled, precise movements that focus on strength, stability, flexibility, and deep core engagement.

Traditional Pilates workouts use a Reformer, Wunda Chair,
tower, and Cadillac to improve posture and muscle endurance.

  • MEGAFORMER™

A next-level, full-body fitness experience, the Megaformer™ workout is higher intensity while still being low-impact. This method keeps your muscles under constant tension, building strength, endurance, and control in a way that’s both challenging and effective.

No matter which class you choose, our expert instructors will guide you through every movement, ensuring you feel supported, challenged, and totally energized.

Are you more into Lagree, Pilates, or a mix of both?

At PILATES BLAST, we’re all about both. Double the methods, double the fun, all in one vibrant studio.

If it’s your first time, we usually recommend starting with a Pilates class. It’s a great way to ease in, build confidence, and get familiar with the movements before exploring Megaformer™. Both offer incredible benefits, and as we get to know you, we’ll help you find the perfect classes to match your goals.

Wherever you start, we’ll be right there with you. Let’s move together.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

We get it, your fitness journey is as unique as you are. That’s why we’ve got three amazing ways to sweat, stretch, and strengthen with us.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Pilates is a system of exercises that focuses on control, core strength, flexibility, and breathing. It helps improve your overall fitness with low-impact movements.

The Megaformer™ combines Pilates principles with high-intensity movements for a full-body workout. It improves strength, cardio, flexibility, and balance, all in one session!

  • Equipment: Traditional Pilates workouts use a mat or standard reformer, all classes at Pilates Blast are on machines while the Megaformer™ steps it up with adjustable springs and a carriage system for greater resistance and a wider range of motion.
  • Intensity: While Pilates exercises focus on slow, controlled movements, the Megaformer™ method combines high-intensity intervals with continuous motion to push your limits and deliver faster results.
  • Workout Style: Traditional Pilates studio sessions emphasize isolated movements for posture and alignment. The Megaformer™ engages multiple muscle groups at once, enhancing strength and cardiovascular fitness.
  • Efficiency: In just 40-50 minutes, the Megaformer™ delivers a high-intensity, low-impact burn, making it one of the most effective workouts compared to longer, lower-intensity Pilates workouts.

CLASS QUESTIONS

We’ve got a variety of classes to fit your needs:

  • Megaformer™ Classes: These are our signature classes on the Megaformer™, where you’ll target all major muscle groups and work on your endurance, strength, and flexibility.
  • Megaformer™ Fundamentals: New to Pilates? This class takes it slow, breaking down the basics to get you comfortable on the Megaformer™ before jumping into more advanced moves.
  • Pilates on the Reformer If you’re looking for a mat-based workout that still challenges your core, this is the one for you.
  • Private Sessions: Need some one-on-one attention? Book a private session and get personalized feedback.

Yes! Pilates is all about everyone. If you’re a complete beginner, we recommend starting with our small group pilates class or a 1:1 session. You’ll get the basics down, and the instructors will guide you through every step. Don’t worry, we’ve got your back!

We recommend attending at least 2 classes per week to see the best results. Many of our long-term clients attend 1–5 times a week, depending on their goals.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

We don’t have locker rooms, but we provide cubbies for your belongings. We also have showers available, so feel free to bring a towel if you need one.

Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that lets you move easily. Grip socks are not required but preferred for safety and can be purchased at the studio.

Yes! We provide bottled water for $1, which goes towards our water fund. Feel free to help us keep the studio hydrated!

STUDIO POLICIES

To ensure a smooth experience, please arrive at least 5 minutes before class. If you do arrive late, join in where the class is and the instructor will guide you. Keep in mind our 12-hour cancellation policy for all classes.

While doctors typically advise against trying new workouts during pregnancy, if you’ve been practicing Pilates regularly before pregnancy, it’s safe to continue as long as you’re comfortable. Contact us for more details or email [email protected].

  • Class Schedule & Instructors: Instructors and classes are subject to change without notice. Be sure to check our class schedule for the latest updates.
  • Prepayment Requirement: All classes must be prepaid in order to reserve your spot.
  • Final Sales: All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable, non-exchangeable, and non-transferable.
  • Grip Socks: Grip socks are recommended for all classes. You can conveniently purchase them at the studio if you don’t have your own.

We understand that life happens! Here’s how our cancellation policy works:

  • For regular classes: You may cancel up to 12 hours before the class start time to receive a credit for a future class booking.
  • For private sessions: You must cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any charges.

If you cancel within the designated time frame, your account will be credited for future use. However, if you miss the window, the class will not be refunded, exchanged, or transferred.

To cancel a class:

  1. Log into MindBody or the Pilates Blast app.
  2. Navigate to My Info, then My Schedule.
  3. Click Cancel next to the class you’d like to cancel.

For private sessions, cancellations must be made directly with the instructor or by emailing [email protected]. If you need help or have any questions, feel free to email us.

WAITLIST

If a class is full, don’t worry! You can add yourself to the waitlist for a chance to get in. Here’s how it works:

  • To join the waitlist, you’ll need to purchase a class or package.
  • If a spot opens up, you’ll be added to the class automatically and receive an email confirmation (make sure you’re signed up to receive emails!).
  • If you don’t get in, your class credit will be returned to your account.
  • When putting yourself on the waitlist, assume you are getting in up to 2 hours prior to class. If you are pulled in to the class you are responsible for that booking or cancellation of that reservation. If your plans have changed and you cannot attend the class, you need to remove yourself from the waitlist to not risk losing a book class you can no longer attend.

Important Notes:

  • The 12-hour cancellation policy still applies even if you’re added to the waitlist at the last minute.
  • The waitlist closes 2 hours before class starts.
  • If you no longer want to attend a class you’re waitlisted for, be sure to remove yourself 12 hours in advance to avoid losing your class credit if pulled into the class.
